Mayor says Alice will not be returning to Crab Circle
Mayor of Kingston Delroy Williams is seeking to make it clear that vendor Alice Waugh will not be returning to popular street food spot Crab Circle when it reopens, despite her claims otherwise.
In an interview yesterday with THE STAR, Waugh said she fully intended to return to Crab Circle as she is unable to provide for herself and her children.
In a post on social media, Williams questioned her assertion regarding a return.
“To purchase? Surely not as a vendor. The vendors who are returning have met with the Council, completed certification by HEART and have done the necessary food handlers training. She has not,” Williams posted.
Waugh had also claimed she was not at the training because her blood pressure was high.
But Williams said Waugh was never invited to the training and certification organised by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation in partnership with HEART Trust/ NSTA.
“I can’t speak to her being sick. She was not invited to do the certification because she is not being reinstated as a vendor,” the mayor said.
