UPDATE: Police urge calm following security threat at several schools
Following this morning's security threat which forced several schools islandwide to close and have classes suspended, the police is urging the public to remain calm.
"The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) along with other key stakeholders have launched an investigation into reports of bomb threats that have been sent via emails to several schools across the island," the police said in a statement.
The police also report that based on preliminary investigations, the "bomb threats" are believed to be a hoax.
"We are working assiduously to locate the source of the document and would like to reassure everyone that all resources will be used to restore normalcy as quickly as possible," the JCF added.
