Ribba Don looks to continue momentum

Ribba Don is feeling upbeat about his recent performance as an opening act for dancehall star Valiant at a show in Canada.

"Bringing a fresh sound to Toronto, I'm focused on creating feel-good music," said Ribba Don. "Opening up for the Valiant show was a great opportunity. There was a great turnout and an overall great vibe," he said. However, the show was marred by a microphone-throwing incident involving two other performers.

"Unfortunately, we received negative backlash in the following days due to the viral video which highlighted a violent incident on stage that night because I was wearing a similar outfit as the culprit. I had the opportunity to clear up the mix-up, thanks to my team and fans... ," said Ribba Don.

Labelled as 'Toronto's Fresh Prince', Ribba Don is one of Canada's up-and-coming dancehall artistes and has made a name for himself with songs such as Crazy Glue and Afi Bingo.

Actively promoting his single Chap Lawd, the accompanying visuals showcase the Jamaican diaspora in Toronto, with cutaways of local restaurants and the city.

"The feedback for the Chap Lawd single has been wonderful. I've been doing lots of dubs for sounds worldwide and it has been on rotation on Canadian, UK, and African radio stations," he said.

Currently, Ribba Don is focused on collaborating with local producers and artistes and looks forward to helping bridge the gap between the Jamaican and Canadian industries.
